Objectives

  In relation to the congress Mlf Digital

Initiated in a second year kindergarten class at the French hight school of Castilla y León (Spain),  the  "albums écho numériques"  project  was  presented  at  the :

                                     

technology in schools.

Sharing this experience allowed teachers to come together to execute this project in their classroom. This web site is the result for the pupils as a digital collection of Echo Albums.

Now, this platform will allow sharing the different #AEN project carried throughout French schools of the Mlf/OSUI network, and will result for the pupils as a digital collection of Echo Albums.

In relation to the new kindergarten programs project
"Learning by doing"

The learning process for young pupils can be lengthy, and their progresses are seldom linear. They often need an adaptation period that can pass through an already know process or a new method. Either way, pedagogic choices consider the child's experience. Repetition is a method needed to stabilise their knowledge.

Children first arrive to kindergarten with an acquired language still very groping and different. First of all, kindergarten helps every child in their first "attempts", as teachers pay close attention, and watch with a special interest the children productions so they can go back over it using linguistic tools in order to help the child to improve.

Teachers allow children to identify their successes, to keep record of them, to remember them by referring to them, to revisit them in order to perceive the evolution. These tracks can take various forms: photographs, drawings writings, productions, recordings... They demonstrate visible consistency and the connections that exist through the project the children are involved in. Evaluation, understood in such a way, is an essential working tool within teams and a way to communicate and exchange information with the families.

Teachers collaborate together in the choices of equipment and learning tools. As such, digital medias have their place in kindergarten, provided that the objectives and the way of using them must be made to real-life activities.

"When an effective larning experience meet the needs of the learner"

In the context of French educational establishments abroad, the digital echo album enables the learner to feel more confident and valued. Therefore, he can acknowledge his specific status (non-french speaking student) through a tool specially designed for him.

Based on situations experienced in class, the purpose of the digital echo album is for pupils to achieve the acquisition of a useful and effective oral language for his integration in the class.
